Plans to invest £7.5m in the expansion of its rental fleet of engineering cabins have been announced by Vertec Engineering (Vertec).

Vertec – one of the Offshore Container Holdings Limited (OCHL) group of companies – says the investment, which will expand its fleet to more than 200 modules, represents a major step towards providing the largest, most modern fleet of specialised engineering cabins in the world.

OCHL Chief Executive, John Heiton, says these are exciting times for the company.

He said: “Our aim is to consolidate upon our market leading position in cabin design and build and become the first choice in terms of cabin rental, service, refurbishment and maintenance too.

“Having exhibited at Offshore Europe back in September, where we received an overwhelming response to our range of products and services, it is clear that global service company customers are in tune with our life-cycle approach to cabin provision.”

John added: “The first 20 new rental cabins are currently under construction and will be added to our fleet by the end of the year. With all cabin designs based upon a well-developed understanding of industry and client needs, I believe Vertec is quickly emerging as the first choice for specialist engineering cabins, not just in the UK, but on a global level.”

The rental fleet investment is part of an ongoing expansion plan, which also includes increasing Vertec's global coverage through the establishment of overseas subsidiaries and an international agency network.
