Aberdeen-based OEG Offshore (OEG) has been awarded several new rental and sale contracts in Africa worth £1.5million.

The Dyce headquartered company – which specialises in the design, build, rental and sale of cabins and cargo units for the offshore oil and gas market – will deliver a range of units to Total, Shell, Baker Hughes and Halliburton in West and East Africa.
The firm will provide several different units, including DNV A60 Zone 2 technician cabins to Metrol for use during well testing in Mozambique and Tanzania in East Africa. OEG also supplied Zone 2 DNV 2.7-1 workshop modules to oil and gas production and exploration company Anadarko for use in the same area.
OEG has also mobilised more than 200 cargo-carrying units to the east of the continent for customers to use in current exploration projects.
In West Africa OEG has been awarded contracts with Schlumberger, Baker Hughes and Noble Energy to supply more than 300 DNV 2.7-1 offshore container baskets and cargo-carrying units for use in the Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The Aberdeen firm has also delivered A60 Zone 2 cabins to Port Harcourt in Nigeria, the first fleet to be based there locally for rental use.
As part of its commitment to the region, OEG has invested £2.5million in new assets across its full range of products for the African market through a combination of direct sales and local representation.
Craig Russell, commercial director at OEG, said: “We are delighted to have secured these contracts, which are the culmination of local support in the region and our growing international reputation as a supplier and manufacturer of high quality A60 modules and CCUs.
“Our decision to invest £2.5million in a new fleet of units is indicative of our commitment to customers in East and West Africa for the long term. This will not only allow us to deliver throughout Africa within constrained time limits but will also increase our provisions to meet local demand for both the rental and sales markets, giving customers a greater degree of flexibility. Having a modern fleet designed and built to the DNV 2.7-1 internationally recognised standard also enables us to meet the highest safety expectations, regardless of where in the world the products are mobilised.”
