Aberdeen-based OEG Offshore (OEG) has secured two significant rental contracts worth £1.6 million with Total E&P Netherlands (Total) and Marathon Oil.

OEG, which specialises in the design, build and rental of cabins and cargo-carrying units for the offshore oil and gas market, has been awarded three-year contracts by the two major operators, with the potential for each deal to be extended by a further two years.

Total has contracted OEG to supply over 200 containers and baskets for operational use in Dutch waters. The deal was won in conjunction with Dutch company, Lubbers Logistics, based in Schoonebeek, which acts as a local agent for OEG Offshore.

The Marathon Oil contract will require the delivery of up to 200 cargo baskets, half height, open top and mini units for use in the company's North Sea projects.

OEG's commercial director Craig Russell said: “These major rental contracts demonstrate OEG's continued growth as we strive to expand our presence in Europe and establish the company as one that customers can rely on for longer term, large scale projects.

“OEG Offshore's status, both in the UK and indeed globally, has grown considerably over the past few months. Our ongoing plans to increase the company's share of the container market, has been a key factor in the transition from small scale supply to managing larger, longer term deals involving hundreds of units and modules.

“Our commitment to delivering the contract with Total is strengthened by the excellent working relationship that we have with Lubbers Logistics, as well as our investment of over £536,000 in expanding OEG's rental fleet in the Netherlands.

“Our ability to provide cost-efficient, tailored solutions across the board means that demand for our services within the North Sea region is as high as it is in international waters – as shown by this significant deal with Marathon Oil.”
