In response to the annual campaign run by charity Cash for Kids, OEG has donated nearly £3,000 worth of toys and games in an 8ft offshore container to provide urgent support to record levels of families in need across the region.

Teams from OEG’s network of Aberdeen facilities in the Bridge of Don, Portlethen and Kintore worked together to fill and deliver the container to the volunteers at Mission Christmas.

Louise Douglas, Charity Fundraising Executive at Cash for Kids’ Northeast Scotland branch commented “Thanks to the generosity of OEG Offshore donating such a large amount of toys for all age groups, it will make a huge difference to children waking up on Christmas morning.”
Clive Hoskisson, Managing Director of OEG Offshore UK Ltd said, “It’s heartbreaking to hear the record amount of applications Cash for Kids has received from families in the Aberdeen area this year. We can’t believe over 5,300 kids might not have anything to open on Christmas day, it’s a deeply upsetting number. That’s why OEG wanted to be part of the Mission Christmas campaign giving Santa a helping hand.

OEG has bases across Aberdeen and we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we operate. Our offshore containers can be seen transporting mission-critical supplies offshore to keep the energy sector moving. It made sense to fill an offshore container with toys, to create a memorable Christmas for local children. It's our way of giving back and supporting those in need, and it’s part of our continued social responsibility programme.”

Cash for Kids supports children and young people affected by poverty, illness and those who have additional needs. The charity raised £20.4 million across the UK in 2022, supporting 489,409 children.

OEG’s donation marks the latest in a series of initiatives from OEG to support local welfare and outreach charities including Abernecessities and Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
