Thirty eight participants from OEG Offshore Aberdeen joined the Fit Nut Charity Challenge earlier this year.   The 12-week challenge included a health check at the start, middle and the finish to measure blood pressure, body composition, aerobic capacity, strength and flexibility.

The most improved individual at the end of the challenge chooses which charity receives the money donated by the participants.

And the Winner is.... top 'Fit Nut' from OEG with an overall improvement of 8.73% is Craig Smith.

Closest runners up are Callum Dunbar (6.99%) and Laura Johnston (6.40%).   All the OEG 'Fit Nuts' were found to have improved in at least one component of health and fitness in the period.  An excellent result!

Craig has chosen the Grampian Multiple Sclerosis Society Therapy Centreto receive £320 total donations and OEG Offshore matched this amount, resulting in a total of £640 being donated.

Craig, Callum and Laura presented the cheque to Eileen Matthews, Manager at the Grampian MS Society Therapy Centre in Dyce, Aberdeen.

Eileen explained to the OEG team that the centre offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy along with reflexology and physiotherapy.  The hyperbaric compression chamber can help ease the muscle-wasting effects of MS and helps improve mobility.

The Grampian MS therapy centre supports over 140 sufferers from Aberdeen and the wider Aberdeenshire and Moray areas. The charity fights to improve treatment and care to help people with MS take control of their lives, whilst also funding research to help beat MS for good.
